This File Will Self Destruct

By Droplr

Sometimes you don’t want the stuff you share to stick around forever. That’s why we’ve added the “self-destruct” option to Droplr. You can set drops to detonate after 1 hour, 1 day, 1 week, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, or a custom amount of time. Think of it like Snapchat, or Instagram Stories, but for files.

Self-destruct option in Droplr

Droplr aims to make sharing quick, simple, and elegant. Managing a massive archive of files is anything but simple. With these detonating drops, you can send it and forget it. Fewer files to manage and less mess. It’s clean and simple. You can also use self-destruct for files with sensitive information to ensure that it doesn’t get out.

Here’s how it works. From the Mac or Windows app, click the Droplr icon in the menu bar and click on the screenshot you want to self-destruct. Select Self Destruct, then select the duration of your drop. On the Droplr Chrome extension, you can click on the self-destruct icon (which looks like a clock) to do the same. You can also set the default self-destruction time of all your drops (from this point on) in Settings in the Droplr Dashboard.

Self-destruct is available for all Droplr users. Download the latest version of Droplr here.
