Droplr + Microsoft Teams

Microsoft Teams Pros & Cons

Pros:

  • Communication Channels

Microsoft Teams helps teams communicate and work more efficiently via channels, direct messages, and video conferences all in one place.
  • Upload Files

Rather than sending files back and forth via email, Microsoft Teams allows users to upload files directly to the tool and share them with other team members. The cloud further makes collaborating easy, even in real time.
  • Access to Microsoft Tools

Microsoft tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or SharePoint can be accessed inside Microsoft Teams.
  • Integrations

Microsoft Teams integrates with over 250 third-party apps, including Droplr.
  • Security

Microsoft Teams uses data encryption, multi-factor authentication, and SSO to keep your files safe and secure.

Cons:

  • Similar Applications

Microsoft offers too many tools that are similar to Teams, such as Skype, Microsoft Stream, Yammer, and OneNote. This leads employees to confusion as to what tools they should be using.
  • Channel Limits

Microsoft Teams limits the number of channels that can be created to 100. This may be enough for smaller organizations but larger corporations may run out of channels for communication.
  • No Unified Search Feature

Microsoft offers no unified search feature for conversations that take place across all tools which means there is no way to do a global search for a file or conversation that may have happened in a tool outside of Teams.
  • Organization Use

Organizations that use Office 365 may dictate that employees use Microsoft Teams as opposed to other tools that may be a better fit for the organization.
  • File Storage

Everything uploaded into conversations gets filed into the channel root folder. Trying to organize these conversations into other folders breaks the file links in the conversation.
