Intercom is a customer messaging platform that allows you to connect with customers directly from your homepage. The intercom chat function can be set up to send a custom message to customers who click on your page. From there, customers can reply and be directed to seek additional information, schedule a meeting, or access live chat with a customer service agent.

Intercom’s Team Inbox displays all chats from customers who have accessed the live chat. The inbox can be accessed by anyone on your team, though you can also set separate inboxes for different categories such as sales and support. Intercom’s custom bots can qualify leads automatically and route them to the correct team member. Inbox also lets you communicate with your teammates to collaborate on questions and share schedules.

The intercom app integrates with more than 150 other apps such as Zapier, Google Meet, Calendly, and Droplr. This lets you schedule meetings, start video calls, and share images directly from the intercom chat or inbox. Intercom also integrates with apps that track sales numbers, analyze results, and provide suggestions for future success. Finally, Intercom also includes API functionality so users can design their own integrations if they can’t find one that meets their needs. 

Intercom pricing begins at $38/month for those focused on customer support and includes live chat, a customer database, reports, a share inbox for teammates, and essential integrations. Packages based on lead generation and customer engagement are also available, as is an “all-in-one” package that includes services from all three. Intercom’s premium package with custom pricing can add targeted messages based on customer segmentation, chat customization, custom bots, product tours, advanced reporting and analytics, product metrics, and access to Intercom’s knowledge base.
