  HelpCrunch

  HelpCrunch provides the same base services as Intercom but at a cheaper cost. In fact, you can even migrate your Intercom data for free! HelpCrunch’s standard plan, costing $15/month per team member, includes live chat, three auto messages, three popups, full customization, a help desk to prioritize customer request, and a knowledge base for customers. Additional auto messages, popups, chat widgets, custom branding, email, and newsletters cost more, though you can save by paying annually instead of monthly. Unfortunately, HelpCrunch offers only a fraction of Intercom’s integrations, though they are planning to add more soon.

  LiveChat

  Like HelpCrunch, LiveChat advertises itself as a cheaper alternative to Intercom. LiveChat provides a similar, albeit less intrusive chat function to Intercom that also adds a built-in ticketing system. On the other hand, LiveChat does not include functions targeted towards sales teams such as product tours and lead qualification. LiveChat’s pricing begins at $16/month per agent when billed annually and includes chat routing, ticket management, a 60 day chat history, and tracking for up to 100 customers. More expensive plans include full customization, unlimited chat history, multiple branding, a work scheduler, and advanced reporting.

  Drift

  Drift is a live chat tool that also provides email and video. Unlike Intercom, these functions are not all included in one plan, though Drift does provide free plans for individuals who want a basic live chat, personal booking calendar, and unlimited video recording and video chats. Drift’s Pro chat plan for businesses costs $400/month and includes custom bots, CRM routing and integrations, while its Premium chat plan costs $1500/month to add account-based marketing, multiple teams, more integrations, and better CSM. Enterprise custom pricing is needed to add email and more detailed analytics and business management. Drift differentiates itself from Intercom by including unlimited contacts and reporting functions built specifically for sales and marketing teams.
